A success story in Sweden
After a fire in 2013, which completely destroyed the shed and out-building, a full rebuild was required. Farm manager, Staffan Aresund, decided right from the outset that in the future he wanted to feed his animals exclusively with hay. After making several excursions to hay dairy farms throughout Europe, he decided to plan and build a new hay drying plant with Heutrocknung SR.
Together, they designed a building measuring 50 x 20 metres and containing 4 x 200 m² boxes. An additional 50 m² floor drying area was created under an extended roof to dry the farm's own cereal crops for long term storage. All the drying chambers are supplied centrally by a blower and a dehumidifier. An SR 1260 hay crane with an arm length of 12.5 metres was also installed.
During the commissioning process, a total of around 20 hectares of the second cut of hay was loaded into two boxes and dried over a period of two days.
